Annual Meetings Are a Prime Time to Engage Volunteerism

Are you taking full advantage of the member/credit union relationship?

It’s the season of annual meetings, so make the most of your time in front of your members. Earlier this month, Callahan & Associates attended the annual meeting of Library of Congress Federal Credit Union, which is celebrating its 75th Anniversary. Several hundred members packed Coolidge Auditorium in the Library’s historic Thomas Jefferson Building, all eagerly awaiting the start of the afternoon meeting that included updates and presentations by the credit union’s staff and Board as well as prize drawings for members in attendance. Check out our video from the meeting and hear why the credit union, its Board, and its members value the annual gathering.

We all know credit unions couldn’t exist without their members; unfortunately, members can always find alternatives for their financial services. But as research continually demonstrates, credit unions earn high marks in member support and customer advocacy. So your members love you, but how are you building upon those relationships? Members give back to their credit unions through myriad ways, from using the institution’s services to generating word-of-mouth marketing to participating on the Board. Your volunteers are the lifeblood of the credit union; use their enthusiasm and step up your game.
