This drop indicates that consumer lending may be picking up at natural person credit unions. Total assets at the 34 corporate credit unions is $58.4 billion as of April 30, 2001. While corporate assets have dropped slightly in the 30-days between 3-31-01 and 4-30-01, they were up significantly from the same point 1 year ago. As of April 30, 2000 the corporate CU's that serve natural person credit unions held a combined $41.7 billion in total assets.
