Charlotte Taft

Charlotte Taft is the Senior Director of Business Intelligence at Callahan & Associates. In her role, Charlotte turns raw data into meaningful information. Translating data into action helps Callahan make decisions about software, product design, client relationships, and more. When diving into the data, Charlotte always keeps the needs of the user at the forefront of her work.

Before joining Callahan — and the credit union industry — five years ago, Charlotte spent 15 years working across the fields of technology and financial services, including stints at Google and Moody’s. As an employee at Callahan, she has created a community of analytics collaboration for credit unions and suppliers that encompasses the Tableau User Group and Power BI User Group for Credit Unions. When it comes to data, Charlotte doesn’t see numbers, she sees people. I am fascinated by and care about people and how they live their lives,” she says. Working for Callahan gives Charlotte the opportunity to help improve the lives of credit union members and influence the way Callahan leverages its own data to support cooperative FIs across the country.

Charlotte is currently pursuing her master’s degree in business analytics at the University of Virginia, and even when she’s not thinking about cooperative strategy for her professional interests, she is thinking about it for her personal ones. The native of Ann Arbor, MI, learned to row when she was 13 and has been rowing, coaching, or mentoring ever since. She currently directs the middle school rowing program for DC’s only public high school crew program. Charlotte is fierce on land as well as water. While living in Romania for two years, she learned how to harvest plums, iron fitted sheets, make moonshine.

This session takes on how to use public data and combine it with internal data in Tableau to map underserved members.
