The popularity of online mobile banking continues to grow. In a 2014 Trends in Consumer Mobility Report by Bank of America, 23% of survey respondents said they complete the majority of their banking transactions at a brick-and-mortal branch. Nearly half, 47%, use either mobile or online channels as their primary method of banking.

According to a 2013 survey conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs for American Bankers Association, 39% of respondents prefer Internet banking, making it the most popular banking method; however, at 8%, mobile banking eclipsed the popularity of both the telephone (7%) and mail (7%). That’s a 30% increase over 2012 and goes to show the growing importance of this channel.
