According to GivingTuesday.org, donors gave a record-breaking $3.1 billion in just 24 hours last year, and more than 85 countries celebrated the day. Barely a decade after its launch, GivingTuesday has grown from a grassroots movement into a global powerhouse that encourages radical generosity. Credit unions, well-known for their community- impact initiatives, are participating in global movements like GivingTuesday as well as local fundraising efforts – – both seasonally and throughout the year.
During this webinar, Callahan & Associates’ Aaron Passman will moderate an interactive discussion focused on how various charitable giving strategies are successfully engaging members and employees, while strengthening the communities they serve. From Golden 1’s involvement in the Sacramento region’s annual “Big Day of Giving” and Education Credit Union’s participation in “The Panhandle Gives” to First Tech’s “Season of Giving” initiative, panelists will share their various approaches along with results, lessons learned and advice for others.
Panelists include Erica Taylor, vice president, communications & community relations for Golden 1 Credit Union, Chylon Pappas, vice president of corporate & government engagement, and Kate Benedict, director, community engagement, for First Tech Federal Credit Union, and Tiffany Sharpensteen, director of marketing for Education Credit Union and ECU Foundation board member.
