Montana’s Credit Unions Appoints Gerry Singleton As President/CEO

The Board of Directors of Montana’s Credit Unions is pleased to announce the selection of Gerry Singleton as the trade association’s new President/Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Singleton will succeed Ms. Tracie Kenyon, who has served in the role for nearly 22 years.

We are excited to have Gerry join Montana’s Credit Unions as our next President/CEO and continue leading us through this ever-changing credit union landscape,” said Jeremy Presta, Board Chair. “When you have an exceptional organization as I feel we do, it attracts exceptional people and Gerry fits that description perfectly. We look forward to introducing or reintroducing Gerry to the rest of our amazing credit unions and for him to continue our history of having a strong and inspirational leader.”

Singleton has spent almost 25 years as the VP-Credit Union System Relations at CUNA Mutual Group, working closely alongside the leagues, CUNA, and other key system partners to build a thriving credit union system. After a very thorough search, completed in partnership with Humanidei, and discussions with a diverse field of impressive candidates, Singleton stood out from the others with his experience, his passion, and his vision for how Montana’s Credit Unions will continue to be an independent and thriving resource.

Singleton stated, “I am thrilled to join Montana’s Credit Unions as their next President/ CEO. Montana’s Credit Unions — its top-notch staff, committed board, and passionate member credit unions — has been highly effective in delivering quality advocacy, programs, and services across the state, truly living out its mission of Enhancing a Thriving Montana Community. Montanans and the communities in which they live need credit unions now more than ever as they face today’s challenges, and we are uniquely positioned to serve them through the credit union difference.”

Singleton is a long-time resident of Belgrade, Montana, who loves spending time with his family, hiking, and connecting to his community. During his time in the credit union movement, he has served on various national Boards of Directors and Advisory Groups, including the Board of the National Credit Union Foundation, the Board of the CUNA Mutual Foundation, the Advisory Board of the CUFinHealth Fund, and as an active Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE), with designations for CaribDE and Africa DE, as well. One exciting recent accomplishment of which he is proud relates to commissioning a study on Thriving Small Credit Unions in partnership with the Filene Research Institute. It is exciting that we have been able to find such high caliber credit union talent right in our backyard, and truly a testament to the incredibly well-respected entity that Montana’s Credit Unions has become.

The search was completed in partnership with Humanidei. Humanidei brings decades of credit union system experience to the recruiting process, ensuring executive placements that will carry organizations forward in fulfillment of their mission. www.humanidei.com
