On June 29, the Coastal Credit Union Foundation and Habitat for Humanity of Orange County celebrated the nonprofit’s newest homebuyers in the Gattis Court community in Chapel Hill. Officials from the Town of Chapel Hill joined representatives from the foundation, Coastal Credit Union, Compass Center and Habitat for Humanity for the ceremony. The Gattis Court home and another in Durham were funded by $200,000 in grants from the foundation. A second home, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Durham, will be dedicated on July 13. Both houses are dedicated in honor of former Coastal CEO Chuck Purvis and his wife, Gail, longtime supporters of Habitat for Humanity.
