Baltimore, MD, March 23, 2026. Securityplus Federal Credit Union, one of Maryland’s largest and most diverse credit unions, announces key additions to its executive leadership team, reinforcing its commitment to strategic growth, operational excellence, and delivering meaningful member experiences. “Jeff’s leadership, dedication to our members, and commitment to our mission have made a meaningful impact on Securityplus,” said Mike Barr, CEO of Securityplus Federal Credit Union. “I’ve had the privilege of working closely with him and have seen firsthand the care and thought he brings to every initiative. His promotion to Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Experience Officer reflects both his outstanding contributions and the important role he will continue to play in shaping the future of our credit union.”
Jeff Gehris has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy and Experience Officer, following his tenure as Chief Operating Officer at Securityplus Federal Credit Union. In this role, he will lead enterprise-wide strategy and key initiatives while continuing to advance a cohesive, member-centered experience across the organization.
Since joining Securityplus, Gehris has played a critical role in strengthening operations, enhancing employee engagement, and elevating the member experience, helping drive measurable improvements in organizational performance, employee engagement, and member satisfaction. Prior to Securityplus, he held multiple leadership roles at Langley Federal Credit Union, where he developed deep expertise in operations, organizational effectiveness, and member-focused strategy.
He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Saint Leo University and is a Certified Chief Executive (CCE) through the Credit Union Executive Society (CUES).
“I am honored and excited to step into the role of EVP, Chief Strategy and Experience Officer at Securityplus Federal Credit Union,” said Gehris. “Securityplus has always been guided by a deep commitment to our members, employees, and the communities we serve. In this role, I look forward to working alongside our talented, dynamic team to strengthen our strategic direction and enhance the member experience, ensuring every decision we make advances our mission to serve with excellence, simplicity, and care.”
Building on this leadership momentum, Al Gregory joins Securityplus Federal Credit Union as Chief Lending Officer, where he will lead all aspects of the credit union’s lending strategy, including consumer, commercial, mortgage, and indirect lending. In this role, he will play a key part in advancing the credit union’s growth strategy while driving innovative solutions that expand access to credit and enhance the member experience.
“Al joins Securityplus with a strong record of building lending programs that expand opportunity for members and communities,” said Mike Barr, CEO of Securityplus Federal Credit Union. “His thoughtful approach to credit and team leadership aligns closely with our mission to improve the financial lives of those we serve. We are excited to have him lead our lending efforts as we continue growing our impact.”
Al Gregory brings extensive executive leadership experience in lending, operations, and strategic growth within financial institutions. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Lending at FedChoice Federal Credit Union, where he provided executive oversight of all lending functions, led enterprise-wide modernization efforts, and drove significant growth across mortgage and lending portfolios.
Prior to FedChoice, Gregory served as Chief Lending Officer at Old Hickory Credit Union, where he led enterprise-wide lending operations, introduced new products and process improvements, and drove increased efficiency, competitiveness, and growth in both interest and non-interest income.
Throughout his career, Gregory has demonstrated a strong ability to grow lending portfolios, build high-performing teams, and align lending strategy with broader organizational goals, while strengthening community relationships and expanding access to financial opportunity.
“Joining Securityplus Federal Credit Union is a tremendous opportunity, and I’m excited to be part of a team that is so clearly focused on people, purpose, and service,” said Gregory. “I’ve always believed the best financial institutions do more than provide products. They build trust, create opportunity, and make a real impact in the lives of the people they serve. I’m proud to be joining Securityplus and look forward to contributing to that mission.”
The search that led to Gregory’s appointment as Chief Lending Officer was completed in partnership with Humanidei.
