LAS VEGAS, NV. – Each year, One Nevada Credit Union’s Shred Day events raise funds and collect food to fight hunger in Southern Nevada. This year’s spring and fall events took place amid the credit union’s year-long 75th anniversary celebration and set a new record in terms of both dollars and food donated.
In total, One Nevada’s 2025 Shred Days raised $5,100 for Three Square Food Bank and collected 1,100 pounds of food. The shredding service is free to the public, but donations were accepted benefiting Three Square. This year, Las Vegas residents showed up in force to shred and give back, making these donations possible. The credit union’s well-attended fall event, held earlier this month in Las Vegas, raised $2,800 and collected 593 pounds of food by itself.
“For 75 years, our members have been at the heart of everything we do at One Nevada Credit Union,” says Steve O’Donnell, President & CEO. “We’re here to help protect what matters most, safeguarding members’ personal information and building strong financial futures that empower individuals and families to thrive. Through Shred Day, our members joined together as a community to make a meaningful difference for fellow Nevadans. That’s the power of our cooperative credit union.”
The One Nevada Shred Day donations will help Three Square in its mission to fight hunger across the valley, while pursuing a hunger-free community. At Three Square, $1 provides three meals. One Nevada’s Las Vegas Fall Shred Day donation alone will contribute 8,397 meals to the effort, while the credit union’s total donations throughout 2025 will provide 15,297 meals.
