Wyomissing, PA (October 2, 2024) – On October 1st, Riverfront Federal Credit Union (Riverfront) in Wyomissing, Pa., launched its eighth annual Awareness Makes Cents campaign to direct attention to breast cancer awareness and the importance of early detection.
The main event is a free mammography screening in partnership with the Lackawanna Mobile X-ray unit at the credit union’s Spring Township branch, located at 2609 Keiser Blvd., from 9 am-4 pm on Thursday, October 10th. At Riverfront’s Spring Township branch, individuals can donate their spare change to the campaign through an ITM, and Queen’s Café, located inside the Keiser Blvd branch lobby, will be offering a special pink drink and packages of mini-cupcakes for purchase.
On October 16th at Riverfront’s Spring Township and 2001 Museum Road locations, fresh flower bouquets from Stein’s Flowers will be available for purchase with sales proceeds going to Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County (BCSS).
A series of other fundraising activities is also planned, including sales of custom designed tee shirts and pink piggy banks. Riverfront also offers a custom Awareness Makes Cents instant issue debit card for purchase year-round, with $10 of each sale being donated to local Berks County breast cancer service organizations. Riverfront will host a silent auction of ceramic piggy banks, hand-painted by breast cancer survivors who are clients of Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County (BCSS) via this link: https://givebutter.com/c/3sT4kJ/auction. Bidding begins October 1st, 2024. Proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to BCSS.
