Vanessa’s journey to increasing her credit score in two months started with a phone call about outer space.
More specifically, a phone call about Affinity Plus employees in Bemidji potentially taking a celebratory outing to the Headwaters Science Center’s Starlab, a portable planetarium that gives a front-row seat to the stars.
Vanessa works at the center and helped the employees with their space questions. She also happens to be a member at Affinity Plus with a debit card. At the end of the conversation, Vanessa asked if she could get some help building her credit — after some issues in the past, she was in a place to build it back up but didn’t know where to start.
The Bemidji team was more than happy to help Vanessa work on building her credit. She partnered with member advisor Lacy Hiltner to help get her own Affinity Plus credit card and to talk through, in detailed steps, how to use that card to build her credit score.
Two months later, when the Bemidji team showed up at the Science Center to view the night sky at Starlab, Vanessa was there waiting for them, nearly bursting with enthusiasm. She told the team that no one else had been willing to give her a chance at rebuilding her credit, until Affinity Plus did.
And it had already begun to change her life. Within those two months, by using her card properly and following the plan she’d made with Lacy, Vanessa’s credit score had already increased significantly.
