One of the most meaningful experiences at FAIRWINDS is watching our younger members grow into financially confident young adults. When one of our crewmembers started with FAIRWINDS as a Member Service Representative, she helped a 15-year-old member open his first checking and savings account. During those early years, our MSR talked with him about the importance of budgeting and building an emergency savings account. At first, he brought in rolled coins to deposit, then continued to build his savings as he began work at a local restaurant while in school. Today, he’s attending the University of Central Florida while continuing to build his financial future with FAIRWINDS. He has a fully funded $1,000 emergency savings fund and has multiple CDs he continues to renew. Thanks to the relationships our crewmembers foster, we’re able to help set up members for success from the start.
