Through the CDFI program, we were able to assist a young woman in purchasing her first home. The move allowed her to be close to her father and older sister in case of an emergency need, as the member suffers from epilepsy. She is unable to drive due to her condition, and the property is close to a city bus stop providing access to public transportation for travel to and from work and other needs. She never thought purchasing a home on her own would be part of her story. Achieving the American Dream provided a sense of pride, independence, and accomplishment that would not have been possible without Veridian’s CDFI program.
