A Redwood Credit Union member recently visited the Sebastopol branch to withdrawal $250,000 in the form of a cashier’s check. The member wanted to move that money to another financial institution for a special CD rate offering.
Our Member Service Associate wanted to do the right thing for the member and brought the situation to my attention so we could provide options to keep his funds at RCU. In partnership with our deposit and branch teams, we were able to retain the relationship and bring his full financial relationship!
While the member was at my desk, he called and cancelled his appointments with three other financial institutions. I took the opportunity to cover NCUA deposit insurance to ensure he knew we had his best interests in mind.
