I had the privilege of working with an elderly couple whom I grew very close to over the years. They often visited the branch alongside their daughter, who shared a deep bond with them. Through those interactions, I was able to guide them on the benefits of establishing a payable-on-death account, helping ensure their daughter would have a seamless experience managing their finances when the time came.
Nearly eight years later, the couple passed away within a few months of each other. During such an incredibly difficult time, their daughter came to see me. Through her grief, she expressed heartfelt gratitude for the guidance I had provided. She shared that while losing her parents was unbearable, navigating their financial matters was not. Moments like this remind me of the lasting impact we can have — not just as financial professionals, but as trusted partners in our members’ lives.
