Rockton Jones Makes MLB Memories

Navy Federal Credit Union

Rockton Jones, a U.S. Navy veteran and Navy Federal member for more than 20 years, enjoyed a special day at Nationals Park in Washington, DC, with support from the credit union. As part of Navy Federal’s Debit Plus pilot program, Jones was invited to a member appreciation event — a Major League Baseball game featuring the Washington Nationals. Jones secured two seats — one for himself and one for his son — with a $20 donation to Operation Gratitude using his Navy Federal Visa debit card. The event included preferred seating and a full buffet, complete with hot dogs and watermelon sliders, making the father-son duo’s first-ever MLB experience an unforgettable one.

On the West Coast, more than 90 Navy Federal members and their guests attended a Padres baseball game at Petco Park in San Diego.Registrations for the Padres game generated more than $1,200 in member donations toSupport the Enlisted Project(STEP), a local nonprofit organization that provides one-on-one financial counseling to military families in crisis.

“I think it’s awesome how Navy Federal treats their members while also doing great things for the community,” says Jones, who joined the Navy in 2004. “We both really enjoyed the whole experience.” Read his story
