The Coastal Credit Union Foundation has awarded $310,500 to 20 nonprofits in North Carolina during its Q1 2026 grant cycle. The African American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) inducted Blackwell and four other credit union leaders during a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 3.

Coastal Credit Union announced that it collected toys for 200 children in need, in partnership with the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. Coastal hosted Angel Trees at all area branches from November 10 to December 5. Credit union members and employees generously donated, ensuring that 100% of the angels available at Coastal were adopted.

The Coastal Credit Union Foundation, in partnership with Carolinas Credit Union Foundation, is proud to announce sixteen recipients of the Credit Union Scholarship Program, totaling $36,000 awarded in scholarship funds. All scholarships are merit based, with five recognizing students’ volunteerism, and five being larger amounts based on financial needs.

The awards honor three credit union pioneers who made a lasting impact on the worldwide credit union movement.

Coastal Credit Union recently delivered nearly 11,000 school supplies to 29 Elementary schools throughout the counties that the credit union serves. Supplies were delivered during the first two weeks of November, and each school received a box with more than 375 items. Supplies were collected at Coastal branches and headquarters during the credit union’s Back-to-School
