Christian Financial Outreach & Impact Foundation Awards $52,427 in Grants to Local Nonprofits

Sterling Heights, Mich. (Jan. 7, 2026) – Christian Financial Credit Union’s Outreach & Impact Foundation finished the year by awarding $52,427 in community grants to local nonprofits across Southeast Michigan. These grants support programs that address basic needs, education, housing stability, and overall quality of life. They reflect the Foundation’s mission to make a lasting impact in the communities Christian Financial serves.

The following organizations were selected as recipients of the Christian Financial Credit Union Outreach & Impact Foundation grants:

• CARE House of Oakland County: $5,000 to fund training for new Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers, preparing them to provide a consistent, caring presence and strong voice for children in the foster care system.
• Crossroads Care Center: $500 to help support pregnant mothers without insurance so they can receive prenatal care for a healthy mother and baby.
• Deo Gratias Ministries Detroit: $3,000 to purchase food for their community food pantry, representing one-quarter of their annual food budget.
• Epiphany Education Center: $3,000 to support upcoming holiday literacy events for local families and children.
• Face Addiction Now (FAN): $1,638 to fund basic needs for program participants, including deodorant, bath and body wipes, snacks, and water.
• Fleece & Thank You: $6,750 to provide 80 fleece blankets for children in hospitals and care facilities.
• For Kids Like Me: $750 to host a splash party at the Wayne County Aquatic Center in Detroit for children with various special needs.
• Hard Court Hitters, CTA: $500 to support literacy and educational training for students and participants, sustaining year-round programs and learning sessions.
• Haven Homes of Detroit: $2,500 to provide access to healthcare, sobriety support, educational opportunities, and life skills resources for women experiencing economic hardship and recovery challenges.
• House of Providence: $5,000 to support Hope Center initiatives, including the Providence Learning Center and the Family Resource Center.
• Jackets for Jobs: $1,000 to purchase professional clothing for individuals seeking employment.
• New Day Foundation for Families: $1,500 to assist with food security and housing stability for families in need.
• Novi Educational Foundation: $2,000 to fund The Young Person’s Horsemanship Program at Last Acres Farm, enriching the educational experience of students with disabilities through equine-assisted learning.
• Open Hands, Open Hearts: $1,000 to purchase food for their community food pantry.
• Project Healthy Community: $2,500 to support quality-of-life programs focused on education, wellness, and food access.
• Que Blackout Youth Theater: $1,200 to fund production and rehearsal materials such as costumes, props, and set-building supplies for student performances.
• The Rainbow Connection: $5,000 to support their Special Response Program, providing food, clothing, utilities, transportation, housing, and other urgent assistance for families.
• Shattered Mirror Ministries Inc.: $15.89 (in-kind donation) to provide 100 Silence the Lion books – 50 donated to Capuchin Soup Kitchen and 50 to Grace Centers of Hope, to support individuals overcoming addiction. Total in-kind value was $1,589.
• Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Detroit – Resurrection Conference: $2,000 to assist families facing one-time emergencies with critical expenses such as rent, utilities, or car repairs.
• Vista Maria: $5,000 to fund new laundry machines and apartment supplies for Shepherd Hall, Vista Maria’s transitional living program for young women.
• WAVE (Welcoming All Valuing Everyone): $1,000 to support the Mobile Essentials Van program, which distributes new clothing and hygiene kits to people experiencing homelessness in Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties.

This fall and winter, the Christian Financial Credit Union Outreach & Impact Foundation provided $52,427 in grants, along with an additional in-kind donation to nonprofits across Southeast Michigan. The funds support programs that address urgent community needs, from housing and education to food security and quality-of-life initiatives.

In 2025, the Christian Financial Credit Union Outreach & Impact Foundation donated a total of $92,517 in grants, along with additional in-kind donations, to area nonprofits. Since its inception, the Foundation has contributed $252,540 in support of local organizations. The Foundation actively seeks organizations aligned with their priorities and remains committed to supporting programs that improve lives and build stronger communities throughout metro Detroit.
