The Illinois Credit Union League has opened our inaugural Credit Unions in Action (CUIA) data collection initiative, and we’re excited to begin gathering 2025 community impact stories from credit unions across the state.
Credit Unions in Action is designed to capture and quantify the many ways Illinois credit unions strengthen their communities — from financial education and charitable giving to volunteerism and local engagement. By bringing this information together, we are building a comprehensive, statewide narrative that demonstrates the industry’s measurable impact.
The purpose of this initiative is threefold:
• Strengthen advocacy efforts with compelling, data-backed examples to share with policymakers.
• Enhance public awareness of the credit union difference across Illinois communities.
• Support coordinated storytelling at key moments, including legislative outreach and statewide events.
