A Membership That Feels Like Family

Richard’s connection to education began early, watching his mother work at the school he attended. When he decided to follow a similar path, she helped him get his start. That journey eventually led him to the Orange County Department of Education, where he has spent the past 25 years teaching at juvenile hall. Richard knows his role is unique. Sometimes he has only one day to make a meaningful impact without knowing the long-term effect he might have on his students.

Richard became a SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union Member after receiving one of his first paychecks. He wanted a financial institution he could trust that was rooted in his community and understood educators.

“SchoolsFirst FCU has been my community advocate since I established my membership,” he says.

Over the years, Richard and his family have relied on SchoolsFirst FCU for all of their financial needs, including auto loans, a HELOC, and his School Employee Mastercard credit card. He values knowing the credit union consistently looks out for his family’s best interests. For Richard, membership means more than banking: “It’s an extra level of security. I truly feel like part of the SchoolsFirst FCU family.”
