Long-time members visited our branch feeling anxious about a needed new roof. The members are a married couple, comprised of a husband who is the sole income earner and a homemaker who maintains a very intentional budget. The income earner has a retirement date set for next year, which will result in a bit less monthly income for the household.
Our members were extremely anxious about being able to afford the roof with current roofing prices, especially as they plan for retirement. As we discussed options, we were able to collaborate and form a plan that made them extremely comfortable. They would use a portion of their savings combined with our Home Improvement product to complete the project. While the members will strive to pay off the loan early, the option to go a bit longer term made the payment amount much less stressful. The members left with peace of mind about their upcoming financial changes and were very appreciative.
