Supporting Stability Through Every Military Move

Navy Federal Credit Union

At 20, Thays Brown married a childhood friend stationed at Langley Air Force Base near Hampton, VA. Both were Navy Federal members, and opening new accounts together helped them settle into married life with confidence. Soon after, Thays visited a nearby Navy Federal branch — not just as a member, but as a military spouse curious about career possibilities. There, she met a senior member service representative who had spent more than 20 years navigating military life herself.

That conversation changed everything, and not long after, Thays was hired. Since 2017, she has worked in five branches and earned seven promotions, building her career alongside teammates who understand deployments, relocations, and the personal challenges that come with military life. That support carried her through welcoming her daughter, her husband’s deployment, and, eventually, a difficult transition: ending her marriage and moving to Pensacola, FL, to create new opportunities for herself and her daughter.

In Pensacola, Thays met her now-husband, Lieutenant Casey Brown. Two deployments later, and after a move from Florida to Virginia, the family now resides in Connecticut, where Thays supports Navy Federal in a remote-work position as Senior Program Manager. The family is now eagerly awaiting the arrival of their son this summer.

“Navy Federal truly values the people we serve,” she says, “and understands the realities of military life.”
