Peace Of Mind After A Hard Goodbye

St. Tammany Federal Credit Union

A husband and wife had been members since 2003. The husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in February 2024. They had a VISA loan with us, and during her husband’s illness, the wife relied on the VISA to cover daily living expenses. As a result, she stopped making payments on the account.

We later received a notice from Americorp offering a settlement on the VISA. When we contacted the wife, she explained that her husband had passed away and that she was unsure how to handle all of her bills. After speaking with us, she was able to exit the Americorp agreement, saving her thousands of dollars in fees and interest.

She then set up ACH payments for her VISA and received financial counseling. She was extremely relieved and excited to have the financial weight lifted during such a difficult time.
