Patelco Credit Union’s chief technology officer looks beyond banking to envisage a future with artificial intelligence.

How quickly is artificial intelligence poised to change the world? To hear Kal Majmundar tell it, it’s likely to happen by the end of this decade.

“The internet took 20 years to fully materialize,” Majmundar, chief technology officer at Patelco Credit Union, said during Callahan’s quarterly Trendwatch webinar on Aug. 16. “It’s predicted AI will be there in six to seven years, and that will be basically utilized everywhere. The pace of change is much faster.”
