A Light At The End Of The Tunnel

Marshland Credit Union

An older gentleman and his wife came in to consolidate some credit card debt. They had five high-interest credit cards, and no card was lower than 25%, with most carrying significant balances. They paid more than the minimum payment every month but were still spinning their wheels, making progress on the owed balances very slowly.
Between the cards, they paid just under $1,000 per month in credit cards alone. Their total owed balance was $15,392. They also had a 2018 Toyota Tundra truck that was paid off, so we financed part of the value to pay off and close the high-interest credit cards and add a little extra to take care of some small medical bills. All of that debt would have taken who knows how many years and thousands of dollars to pay off but will be paid off in four years with a payment that is half of what they were paying before. They were so relieved to have a light at the end of the tunnel.
