1 Betty, 2 Betty…

A Tennessee credit union uses humor and star power to appeal to its mature demographic.

Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union is well-known in the Chattanooga area for its marketing outreach, which includes sponsoring events at high school football tailgates and minor league baseball games. This summer the credit union took advantage of a golden opportunity to partner with a local newspaper and co-sponsor the second annual Life: An Expo for Boomers & Seniors. To bring a little levity to the event, the credit union hosted a look-alike contest in honor of the expo’sspecial guest, Betty White.

From July 22 through August 9 the credit union accepted photos from look-alike hopefuls that wanted their chance at the grand prize, which included twoVIP passes to a Betty White meet-and-greet and a $100 Visa gift card. On August 11, contest judge Jed Mescon, co-anchor of Channel 3 Eyewitness News TODAY, named TVFCU member Sarah Hilliard the winner. Hilliard has been a member of the credit unionsince 1955 and is the same age as White (that’s 88). Check out Hilliard and White in the photo below.
